James Madison Online High School Increases Credit Recovery Options with Online Physics Course

on Tuesday, 25 February 2014.

NORCROSS, Ga. – James Madison High School, a leading provider of accredited online high school diploma courses, is now making its online physics course available to first time high school students looking to earn their high school diploma and to former students seeking credit recovery options.

Passing a high school physics course has many benefits for the student. According to The American Physical Society, learning physics can directly translate to critical thinking and greater problem-solving skills that are desirable to both college admissions counselors and future employers.

James Madison High School (http://www.jmhs.com/) offers a base physics course and a separate, optional Physics Lab Kit. Both are considered single courses that can be taken independent from the online high school diploma program.

"There are many advantages to taking physics while in high school, especially as an online high school course," said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, James Madison High School Principal. "Students can make up required credits online without attending summer school or compromising family or work obligations."

According to the Center for Public Education, online credit recovery programs make it possible for struggling students to work at their own pace -- appealing to the 35% of all dropouts who say that "failing in school" was a major factor for dropping out. JMHS single courses like physics allow current high school students or high school drop-outs the opportunity to affordably gain credit toward completing a high school diploma program.

James Madison online high school diploma courses follow one of two academic tracks – general or college prep and for those wanting to complete their diploma program with James Madison, it accepts transfer credits from previous high schools.
