SACS CASI (Regionally Accredited)
SACS CASIJames Madison High School is a regionally accredited online high school with accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). SACS CASI is dedicated to advancing excellence in education worldwide through accreditation, research and professional services. SACS CASI accredits over 13,000 schools and school systems throughout the United States and overseas and is an accreditation division of AdvancED.
Why Regional Accreditation is Important
SACS CASI is one of six U.S. regional accrediting bodies that oversee compliance with federal regulations and ensure high standards of academic quality for public and private educational institutions. Distance Education and Training Council (Nationally Accredited)
DETCJames Madison High School is also an accredited member of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. The DETC’s rigorous evaluation process applies the same standards upheld by well-established "brick and mortar" institutions.
The DETC regularly examines the curricula, instruction methods and administrative policies of our accredited online high school. It reviews our student support services and assesses the quality of our faculty and course content. The conclusion? Good News for New Military Recruits!
The U.S. Department of Defense now recognizes graduates of DETC-accredited online high schools as Tier I recruits, giving them full eligibility for enlistment in the armed forces. Previously, full-time online high school programs were ranked under Tier II, with limits set on percentages of eligible recruits.
