We Accept Transfer High School Credits
Transferring high school credits from your previous high school into James Madison High School is easy. And it pays off, too – with faster graduation and reduced tuition. Our Registrar’s Office is ready to evaluate your transcripts and let you know how many transfer credits will apply toward your high school diploma.
How to transfer high school credits
James Madison High School offers academic credit and tuition reduction for eligible transferred high school credits. We accept full and half credits, which means you can transfer a partial year of high school. The maximum is 17 credits @ $40 each, for a total possible tuition savings of $680.00.
To receive transfer credits, an official transcript from an accredited institution must be submitted to us no later than 90 days after you enroll. Prompt receipt of your high school transcript allows us to evaluate your high school credits so we can determine your appropriate grade level and suggest the best learning track for you in a timely manner.
You can request your official transcript by sending the High School Transcript Request Form to your previous school. Your school must fax or mail the transcript to us at the following address:
James Madison High School
P.O. Box 922697,
Norcross, GA 30010-2697
Fax: (770) 729-8578
If you are unable to provide a transcript, you may waive the transcript requirement (if over age 18) through the transcript exemption found in your Student Portal.
If you were homeschooled, you may or may not have a traditional transcript. We will admit homeschooled students who submit a complete portfolio of their work and/or proper documentation. You must include the Home School Form with your portfolio. Students who do not have a homeschool portfolio can request a test from us. Passing the test will allow students to continue, but no credit will be awarded for passing it.
