James Madison High School Mission
Since 1996, James Madison High School has worked to provide adult learner and traditional student with relevant and timely courses in secondary education. Our curricula are designed to help our students propel past the barriers keeping them from fulfilling their desire for a better career and life.
Vision
Be the leading non-traditional learning institution educating people motivated to improve their lives.
Mission
Empower students to achieve their aspirations through flexible, convenient, affordable, and highly relevant educational programs.
Student Outcomes
By incorporating the following learning and career outcomes into its programs, JMHS ensures that graduates are prepared to succeed in a variety of professional, civic, and personal settings.
- Effective Communication
We promote the development of effective oral, written and visual communication skills that lead to the clear and purposeful expression of ideas, information, and logical reasoning. - Critical Thinking
We foster the development of critical thinking skills that help students recognize the relevance of perspectives and biases, search for evidence to support conclusions, analyze problems, reflectively process information, and formulate solutions. - Job-Specific and Technical Skills
We promote the development of job specific technical skills and an understanding of the common body of knowledge associated with a specific program. Those skills, and that knowledge base, are needed to competently and effectively manage responsibilities in the workplace. - Professional and Life Skills
We promote the development of professional and life skills that include responsibility, self-motivation, and a personal desire to contribute to the world. Students will make progress toward becoming engaged and self-reliant learners, demonstrating habits of intellectual inquiry, and striving toward their maximum potential. - Qualifications for Advancement
We provide students with support, as well as the qualifications they need, so they can confidently apply for jobs, change careers, advance in their current workplace, or pursue skill-based hobbies and interests.
